" I absolutely loved this book! It is a page turner where you can't put it down. " Not as good as Mistborn or Way of Kings. The idea of the Shaod and AonDor was very original and compelling. The political and religious machinations got somewhat tedious at times but they helped to create a realistic atmosphere. Hrathen's character was very well developed.
Sarene was annoying at times but interesting too. Loved the parts involving Raoden and Elantris.

I'm a huge Sanderson fan! You could tell however that this was his first book, as the characters aren't quite as developed as they are in his later books, but the cebtral premise of the story was fascinating, and hos two main characterss at least were well rounded. Sanderson fans old and new will be excited to discover it. It deserves this special treatment, something Tor has done only once before, with Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. Elantris was truly a milestone both for Sanderson and for the genre of epic fantasy.
